Welcome to YKnot NEpacas. We are situated in the south-central part of Nebraska, approx. 5 miles north of Kearney. Our 2.5 acres is small but yet just right to suite our needs. At the present time it homes 18 beautiful huacaya alpacas, 4 dogs, 4 cats, and several chickens. And, oh yea, me, Bobbi, and my husband David. We will be celebrating 35 years of marriage this fall. We purchased our acreage approx. 30 years ago, when our 2 daughters Kati and Jessica were still toddlers. Now they are all grown up and we are blessed with one granddaughter and a grandson on the way!
I, like many others saw the advertisements on television of "living the alpaca lifestyle". And, being the animal lover I am, had decided that it was time for our acreage to serve a better purpose than the several hours we spent mowing it every summer. So, I did do some research before we got started, not as much as I should have, but that is hindsight. Anyway, it would not have changed my mind. I was determined that this was the lifestyle for us and my husband, bless his heart, although he reminds me frequently that this was my idea, he does all in his power to support me in this venture.
